Artist Statement
The title of my piece is (holding on to you) , the reason I choose my piece is because of the meaning of it. The meaning of my piece is that not all men are cruel and dirty, that some men really care for you, that they are there to protect you and be there for you when you need a shoulder to lean on. Many men are looked at badly off of what another men does to women, but there are men who is there for you and wont to be with you in not hurt you. So my piece shows that all men aren't the same and there is good men and this world.
I created my piece using a media of charcoal , the reason I choose charcoal is because it makes the piece stands out more and because of all the contrast you can have in the piece with the lightness in the darkness, the process was kind hard considering where to put the highlights and where to keep a certain spot dark.
My piece is a personal piece because it is what I'm going through, but not just me what other families are going through and how they can get through the situation. My goal was to create a piece about a men being loving and caring to show you that he is actually there because he wont to be there not because he wont's to hurt you. I reached my goal by not giving up even when I felt like I couldn't do it no more. I learned that when I'm creating a piece it takes time in hard work that you cant just put something on paper without a meaning in without having a reason to why you creating that piece.
The title of my piece is (TIME FLIES) my piece is made using pen and ink. the reason I decide to do this piece is because we had to pick from a list and on the list it had many things so I decide to do a clock which represent how time flies on the clock I have a raccoon on top of it to show that the clock is flying I also have wings know its moving up into space. I wanted to do a galaxy background because it would've made it look better but I didn't in now I regret it
The title of my piece is (COMING UP) the reason I decide to do this piece is because it was for my god daughter but before I could give it to here she moved back to buffalo new York . I used Prisma colored pencils to create my piece. My piece shows kind of a cartoony but since I couldn't get her anything I decided to draw her something from the heart.
The title of my piece is (Sassy Chic) the reason I decided to do this is because many people told me I have a natural mean mug and that i'm always frowning or having a serious face.
I used line, space, contrast, value, and color. I created my piece using charcoal and chalk pastels. The reason I picked charcoal s because it helps with the details that I need to show and stand out. My pieces means a lot to me because its something I hear everyday.
The title of my piece is (WHATEVER) the reason I named it this is because the way she is positioned and how she looking it make people think that she don't care about nothing.
I used a canvas board and acrylic paint to cover it when working with the paint I had to realize I need lots of layers to make it look better, when doing this project I got to use artist paste. artist paste helps make things stand out.
The title of my piece is (THE CRAZY GIRL) the reason I choose this piece is because when I watched the movie I was thinking like dang this girl crazy but its a good movie. Another reason I choose this piece is because i'm not that good with watercolor but when I started it started off bad and I was giving up until you told me not to. I decided to do watercolor because I know it was gone be challenging to do. For my manipulation I used action words like bang, boom, bam, and wham because she makes all the noises when she breaking things .
The name of my clay piece is (THE FLOWERDED ANCHOR) I was going to do a brain but then it wont working out so well so I decided to do something else. the brain was for my godmother cause she was going through things. I did my piece using clay during clay it was very hard but I managed to do it .when I did the anchor I did flowers and a chain to show how its been chained down . also like the different colors I got to use.
The title of my piece is (LEGENDS) the reason I choose this picture is because my uncle listen to all the old legends and when I was little he told me how music helps calm him down when he going through rough times so I choose to help him cause he is going through hard times and rehab. I feel like I did good because its something close to me and when its personal I take my time.
